The psychology of starting over and how we can break that cycle.

YOUR WEEKLY AFFIRMATION

I am allowed to be imperfect and still make progress. Each step forward, no matter how small is still growth.

If you ever said “I’ll start tomorrow” or “On Monday” for the 10th time this month, trust me, you’re not alone. This was pretty much my life a couple of months ago and sometimes even now.

But here’s the thing: progress isn’t always perfect. In today edition of The Level Up Letter, we will be diving in on why we hit the reset button and how we can finally stop and be at peace without the pressure of perfectionism holding us back.

This Weeks Lesson

I didn’t realize it at the time, but I was stuck in an all-or-nothing mindset. If I didn’t accomplish what I said I would, I’d hit the reset button.

Why we keep hitting “the reset button”

  • You set unrealistic goals and when you fail to accomplish them, you hide from them by hitting the reset button.

  • You don’t want to face the guilt and disapointment that comes with failing.

  • You think by doing this, everything will be fixed and be better.

  • You want everything to be perfect and when it’s not, you erase everything and start over.

The reason we hit the reset button is because we want an easy way out, we don’t want to feel like we’re failing. Doing it gives us motivation and makes us feel as if we’re making progress but in reality we are setting ourselves up for more faliure down the road.

Like I said in the last edition of my newsletter, what you don’t face now will come and bit you later. Instead of hitting the reset button every time things don’t go your way, ask yourself why you want to hit it? What are you avoiding?

Because sometimes, it’s not about needing a fresh start. It’s about needing to face what you keep running from.

So, this week I want you to take 10 minutes and sit down with yourself. Ask yourself why you keep hitting the reset button instead of trying again. What are you avoiding by doing that? Use a piece of paper or a journal and brain dump all your thoughts.

Don’t forget: Awareness is the first step to real change.

This Week’s Blog edition

You want to put yourself out there, you want to start your content creation journey, you want to go to the gym without feeling like your heart is going to rip out of your chest, you want to be able to walk up to strangers and start a conversation with them, but you are too scared.

We love predictability, comfort, or anything we are familiar with, because when we already know the outcome, it gives us a sense of peace and makes us feel as if we are in control. But in reality, we are a puppet. Our fear controls us, and because of that, we won’t be able to do the things we want to do, create the reality that we want to experience, and live as the highest and most successful version of ourselves.

Because nothing you want to accomplish in life is found in your comfort zone.

To get something different, you have to be different. You have to do something different.

In this edition of my blog, I’ll be sharing five of the most effective ways you can get out of your comfort zone, so you can start creating the life you’ve always dreamed of—without being held back.

If this resonated with you, hit reply and tell me what you're journaling about this week. I'm reading every response.
